When other cities go to bed, things get going in Leipzig... The city has about 1,400 restaurants, cafés, pubs, bars and clubs. Around 500 places can be found in the city centre alone. In the summer Leipzig’s typical “al fresco culture” lends it an almost Italian flair. People love to sit outside or party in the streets. Things really take off after about 11 p.m. (when it’s bedtime for most of the rest of Germany!). “See and be seen” is the order of the day (or night), whatever your age. There are several dining and nightlife districts in Leipzig, including Drallewatsch, Schauspielviertel, Südmeile, Münzgasse, Gohlis and Plagwitz.
